The Society of Australian Cinema Pioneers wishes to recognise the sad passing of TESSA McCANN back in August 2013 after a long illness.
Tessa was born in Goulburn (NSW) in 1946. Many years later in Noosa (Qld) she would meet Ian McCann and the two were Wed after a short romance.
The couple were inseparable, and Tessa worked alongside Ian at the Mornington Cinema for twenty-two years, fulfilling the many roles entailed in running an independent cinema. She loved the cinema life and having a chat with patrons, doing the tickets, Candy Bar and Ushering. She had a great sense of humour and a giggle to go with it.
The Society mourns the passing of this dedicated pioneer whose valued contribution is being acknowledged with a posthumous membership certificate for her service.
We extend our belated condolences to her family, colleagues and friends and especially to her husband Ian McCann.
