Chris Pitcher – President, Queensland Branch
Chris started work in the Cinema Industry in 1991 after working in Radio for many years.
She was Assistant Manager of the then single screen Birch, Carroll & Coyle Maroochydore Cinema as well as the Drive-In for over 17 years. After a break she returned to work for the organization as Marketing Manager for both Maroochydore and Toowoomba.
After this Chris went on to work for Hoyts Cinemas in Brisbane as their Group & Events Bookings Executive before starting with the Australian International Movie Convention as Sponsorship & Marketing Manager. During her 3 years with the organization the Convention saw many Movie stars, Producers and Directors make guest appearances to promote their new movie or to receive awards. Amongst these were Russell Crowe, Jack Thompson and Michael Caton.
Chris lives on the Sunshine Coast and enjoys seeing the flow of new membership applications come through. The Queensland Cinema Pioneers hosts two lunches a year and members revel in catching up with so many “old” mates. Cinema is truly a career that forms lifelong friendships.
